Partnerships for Resilience and Empowered Planning (PREP): Community Resilience Planning Handbook

“PREP is an initiative of the Southeast Sustainability Directors’ Network in collaboration with the Urban Sustainability Directors’ Network, the National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center and the University of Arkansas. The main goal of this initiative is to prepare participating Municipal Sustainability Directors to assist communities in resilience planning, especially with regard to extreme weather events. The PREP initiative included conference calls, webinars, workshops, the development of an online tool and this guidance document to familiarize leaders in community resilience planning. The participating municipalities have faced extreme weather events in their communities and are projected to experience more frequent and severe weather events in the future. One of the most valuable outcomes of PREP is the collaboration between participating communities and learning from one another’s experiences.” – PREP Handbook
